The main town of Motril offers all the amenities and shops needed for everyday living and its about 1 hour drive to the city of Granada and around 2 hours drive to the mountains of the Sierra Nevada to enjoy a bit of skiing. The whole area offers fantastic mountain ranges and countryside to enjoy walking and hiking and to explore the historical culture of the mountain villages. Winter renting in the Costa Tropical offers a great escape from grey Northern European winters.

Although Nerja is technically on the Costa Del Sol it does border the Costa Tropical and is sometimes classed in this area. A popular tourist town with it´s whitewashed houses and sandy beaches is a beautiful place to visit.
